Coulter Website Advertisers: Round III

Welcome to Round III of the AnnCoulter.com advertiser awareness effort. For those who are new to DKos, a bit of history can be found here.

This past February, following journalist entertainer Ann Coulter's bigoted remarks directed toward John Edwards, the members of this site participated in a major effort to make corporate and organizational entities aware of their advertising presence on her website. The effort was very successful and all advertisers eventually pulled their ads. A repeat effort was undertaken when a few new advertisers appeared, and eventually those  disappeared with the exception of a few "junk" ads.

It is particularly astonishing that any advertiser, large or small, would even consider sponsoring this site especially after Coulter's latest round of highly publicized anti-semitic rhetoric. After months with no significant advertising support, however, the site now has a new sponsor.

More on the flip....

The new sponsor of Coulter's site is VidShadow.com, a publicly traded California startup and video sharing site founded by Jordan Hudgens, who is currently listed as President and founder of the firm  here. The 23 year old Mr. Hudgens, who was at one point also CEO of the firm, was touted as the "youngest CEO of a publicly traded company in America" in this story  here. Mr. Hudgens also appears to be affiliated with Hitting.com, a baseball related sports site. Ironically, on March 31, 2007, Mr. Hudgens donated $4600 to the Obama campaign (SOURCE: OpenSecrets.org.) The current CEO of the firm appears to be Dave Behar.

As we learned from previous campaigns encouraging advertisers to drop Coulter, it is highly unlikely that either Mr. Hudgens nor even Mr. Behar are aware that VidShadow is sponsoring the Coulter site. Mr Hudgens, given the progressive leanings indicated by his Obama donations, may likely be appalled the the company he founded is sponsoring what many consider to be a hate site.

Shown below is a screen cap of the VidShadow ad which appears immediately upon entry to www.anncoulter.com:

ACTION REQUESTED

As with our previous efforts, if you have a few spare moments please send Mr. Hudgens and Mr. Behar an email to make them aware that VidShadow is sponsoring a site which many perceive to promote hate speech, violence, homophobia and anti-semitism. Please be polite and professional, noting that this sponsorship could be harmful to the image which VidShadow wishes to convey as a "family friendly" site. Specifically request that VidShadow consider withdrawing its sponsorship of www.anncoulter.com.

PLEASE NOTE: It won't take rocket science to figure out that the phone numbers of both Mr. Hudgens and Mr. Behar are easily obtainable through Google. In the interest of courtesy and professionalism, please do not contact by phone but rather by email. Let's give the company an opportunity to respond. If you receive an email response, please share it in the comments.

Let's see if Round III will represent "three strikes and Coulter's out".
